Girls Basketball Season Wrapup

Carly Toothaker, Guest Reporter

Under new head coach Jon Hill and his crew of assistant coaches, the Niwot Girls Basketball team finished the 2021-22 season with a record of 7-15. With talented freshmen and several returning varsity girls, the team worked together to improve upon the rough season last year. Rose Pacheco (freshman) led the team in scoring and steals, averaging 10 points per game and 4 steals per game. Senior returning varsity member, Grace Crall, led the team in rebounds with an average of 5 per game. Working diligently through a variety of injuries, the team improved drastically compared to previous years. Crall states “the environment is super positive and this team has never felt more like a family to me before.” With a young group of girls and few upperclassmen, Coach Hill works to create a positive, long lasting culture within the program. As the season ends, Hill is planning a rigorous offseason for the girls, with hopes of a playoff run in the near future.
